Florida 2026 live midterm results: Donalds projected to win governor's race

Republican Rep. Byron Donalds will defeat Democrat David Jolly to win Florida’s gubernatorial race and become the state’s first Black chief executive.

Floridians also cast ballots in the state’s Senate race between progressive Democrat Angie Nixon and GOP Sen. Ashley Moody, who is seeking a full term after being appointed to replace former Sen. Marco Rubio, who became President Donald Trump's secretary of state.

Republicans' mid-decade redistricting efforts have also upended races for critical House seats that will help decide control of Congress.
