Canada invited to join European Union as first-ever 'associate member'

The European Commission President proposed making Canada the European Union's first associate member during the annual State of the European Union Wednesday, which Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney attended. Canada is currently in the middle of a trade war with the U.S.
