Man arrested after woman found dead in New York City's Central Park with multiple stab wounds
A 911 caller reported finding the body near a walking trail, police said.
A man was arrested after a woman in her 60s was pronounced dead after she was found unresponsive and with multiple stab wounds in New York City's Central Park on Sunday, according to police.
Jonathan Robles, 36, was arrested and faces murder and criminal possession of a weapon charges, according to the New York Police Department.
The 63-year-old woman's identity and the circumstances of her death were withheld by police pending an autopsy by the New York City Medical Examiner's Office, an NYPD spokesperson told ABC News.
Police said there is currently no known relationship between the suspect and victim.
A 911 caller reported finding the body around 9:43 a.m. ET on Sunday, the spokesperson said.
Officers who responded to the call found the woman unresponsive with trauma and stab wounds on her body, police said.
The woman was found off a walking trail in the park near East Drive and East 74th Street, according to police.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
