Preliminary Voter Poll results in Senate races

Here's what preliminary Voter Poll results show in key Senate races:

Ohio: Ohio Senate voters are negative on President Donald Trump, the economy and blame Trump.

Maine: Wide disapproval of Trump and blame for economic conditions, which they think are quite negative. Wide shares of voters here say party control of the Senate is a factor in their vote, but more trust Republican Sen. Susan Collins to get federal funding for the state than Democrat Troy Jackson. Similar shares say Collins is too supportive of Trump than say Jackson does not have the right temperament to serve as senator.

Michigan: Another state with large Trump disapproval, more saying the economy was the biggest issue than anything and nearly half saying the cost of living was crucial to their vote, while far fewer said Israel was crucial. Majorities say Trump's tariffs have hurt the economy in their area and say which party controls the Senate was an important factor to their vote. They are split on whether Democrat Abdul El-Sayed is too extreme but a majority say Republican Mike Rogers is too supportive of Trump.

Texas: The economy is the top issue here too, with many rating it negatively and saying they are worse off. They blame Trump's tariffs and policies for the economy but are split over which party will better handle it.

Iowa: Iowa Senate voters are also down on Trump, blame Trump's tariffs and policies for the economy and are split on whether Democrats or Republicans are better able to handle the economy.

Kansas: Kansas voters are split on whether the economy or the state of democracy is the biggest issue facing the country, but are also very down on the economy and blame Trump.

Gov. Abbott says rural values are 'at stake' in closing message to voters

Incumbent Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who is running for reelection, made a final push for Republican voters to turn out, saying rural values are "at stake" in a Fox News interview on Tuesday afternoon.

"If Republicans across the state realize their values are at stake and turn out and vote by 7 o'clock tonight, we will ensure victories once again for Republicans up and down the ballot," he said.

Asked about a decline in Hispanic support for the GOP, Abbott said he was confident that once Hispanic voters learn about Democrats' "real positions," they will turn to the Republican Party.

"I'm tracking along my historic norms with regard to Hispanic voters, and we feel very confident that as Hispanics learn about the radical ideology that these Democrats stand for, such as transgender surgeries for children, such as boys in girls sports, they are against policies like that," Abbott said.
