Georgia 2026 live midterm results: Democrat Keisha Lance Bottoms projected to be 1st Black woman elected US governor
Democrat Jon Ossoff was also projected to win reelection to his Senate seat.
In Georgia, Democrat Keisha Lance Bottoms is projected to win the race for governor of the battleground state, becoming the first Black woman elected governor in the U.S.
Bottoms, a former Atlanta mayor, faced a challenge from billionaire healthcare executive Rick Jackson.
Meanwhile, incumbent Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff is projected to win reelection in the highly watched Senate race against Republican challenger Mike Collins.
That race could decide control of the chamber. Ossoff is the only Democratic senator on the map this year running for reelection in a state that President Donald Trump won in 2024.
