Election 2026 live results: Democrat Roy Cooper projected to win NC Senate race, flipping seat blue

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said in an interview on Tuesday afternoon that the agency will be "gathering voting logs" to ensure nobody voted illegally.

"After this election, we'll be gathering all the data," Mullin said on the "Will Cain Show."

Mullin was spotted heading into the West Wing earlier on Tuesday. He said it's Homeland Security's job to ensure the election is fair.

DHS has been spearheading voter fraud investigations through Homeland Security Investigations, the department's investigative arm.

Members of President Donald Trump's Cabinet, senior White House staff and political advisers are currently gathered in the East Room monitoring election results as they come in, according to a White House official and sources familiar with the matter.

Trump, who is at the White House, is monitoring the early returns elsewhere in the building. He is expected to join his staff and advisers in the East Room, the sources said.

As Maine polls close, the state will be tabulating the results through a ranked choice voting (RCV) system.

Alaska will also using this system for its state and congressional races.
